One scenario for individualism is say I am with my friends and they say that they are democrats because... and I say that that is foolish and that I am a republican because... I would be expressing my individualism because I would be thinking for myself, and I was expressing my individualism by expressing my right to choose what I am and what I believe, and not believing in what everyone  else believes in. An example of a country that practices individualism as a political ideology is the United States of America.
     One scenario for collectivism is say I am with my friends again and we are talking about our job in the Soviet Union and My friend hi so I say hi back. the conversation would be done right there because we could not think for ourselves and have our own opinions. We could not even say I or you we would have to refer to ourselves as we. An example of a country that (used to) practice(s) collectivism is the soviet Union now know as Russia.
